INTERACTION EXPERIMENT

HandPilot

A local webcam experiment in hand gestures and computer control.

CONTEXTHuman-computer interaction experiment
EXPLORINGComputer vision · Gestures · Local processing

01 / THE QUESTION

What if a gesture became an input?

Explore an alternative way to interact with a computer using hand movement.

02 / THE APPROACH

How I explored it

Use local webcam processing to investigate gesture-driven pointer movement and controls.

03 / THE SCOPE

Interaction experiment

An experiment with software and camera-processing checks. Real-hand responsiveness still needs evaluation on the actual setup.

Exploring a different way to interact.

THE PROJECT

Exploring a different way to interact.

HandPilot explores how a webcam and hand gestures can become an alternative way to interact with a computer.

01

The idea

The project investigates gesture-driven pointer movement and actions using local webcam processing. It is an experiment in making a physical movement useful on screen.

02

Control that can stop

The design includes practice mode, an explicit transition into desktop control and ways to pause. Safe stopping is part of the interaction, not an afterthought.

03

An experiment, honestly presented

Earlier development included software and camera-processing checks. Real-hand responsiveness remains something to evaluate on the actual device and setup; this portfolio does not present it as a finished commercial product.

Let’s talk about ideas.
