LOCATION HISTORY · PERSONAL USE

LifeTrack

A personal travel history: daily routes, location by date and time, speed along the way and weekly distance.

01 / THE QUESTION

Where was I at that date and time?

Look back at a particular day or moment and understand where I travelled.

02 / THE APPROACH

How I explored it

Save movement in a database and connect map locations with time, speed and distance.

03 / THE SCOPE

Built for personal use

Built for my own use. This portfolio shares the idea and functionality; my private routes and records stay private.

THE PROJECT

The places I’ve been. The story in between.

I built LifeTrack to answer a simple question: where was I at a particular date and time? It mapped my daily travel and saved the information in a database so I could return to it later.

01

A timeline of real life

LifeTrack recorded the places I visited and displayed my daily movement on a map. The stored history let me look back at a specific date and time, even long after the journey.

02

Speed, with context

Alongside location, the app recorded movement speed—including when I travelled in a vehicle. I could connect a speed reading to the point in the journey where it happened.

03

A wider view of the week

Weekly distance totals and averages helped me understand how many kilometres I had covered, bringing individual journeys into a broader view of my movement.

04

Built for me

This was a personal-use project. The portfolio describes its functionality; my location records, private routes and travel database are not shared here.

Let’s talk about ideas.
